Teen Requirement
How old does my child need to be to enroll in Drivers Education?
Your child must turn 15 before the final day of class. For example, if the class starts March 1st and ends April 17th, your student may enroll in the class as long as he/she turns 15 by April 17th.
What is the minimum requirement to receive a license at the age of 16 in Illinois?
Your student must complete a minimum of 30 hours of classroom training, 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training and 6 hours of in-car observation with another student.
How many hours does my student need to drive with a parent?
Teens under the age of 18 are required to drive 50 hours with a licensed driver over the age of 21 who has had their license for over a year. 40 hours should be completed during daylight and 10 hours should be completed at night. Your driving hours with an instructor may not count unless you pick a package with more than 8 Hours of Behind the Wheel.
Payment & Pricing
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept Mastercard and Visa.
Can I make payments when purchasing a teen package?
Yes. You can pay 50% non-refundable deposit before the class starts. The remainder of the balance is due when the first class starts.
Are there cancellation fees if I need to cancel my driving session?
Yes. If a drive is cancelled within 24 hours of the lesson, you will "forfeit" the drive. This will require you to pay an additional $40.00 to reinstate that lesson. If you cancel more than 24 hours before the lesson, there is no fee.
Classroom
What happens if my child needs to miss a class?
Your student can miss up to 4 days of class instruction. However, all missed classes must be made up prior to receiving their license. If a student misses more than 4 days, a $200 reinstatement fee will need to be paid to finish the class. At that point, you can determine which class you wouldd like to transfer to. Once the transfer happens, they must start from the beginning. They will pay the classroom portion only.
How do I make up a class?
You can sign up for a make-up session by logging into your account and clicking on the tab labeled "classes." After the session is missed, the class will be highlighted in red with a button that says "schedule make-up." You must make up the class for which you missed. If you missed lesson 6/day 6, you must make up lesson 6/day 6.
How do I access forms?
Forms can be printed from our website once your student logs into their profile. Select the header labeled "resources" and click on the title of each form to download a printable version. These forms are also attached to the Welcome Email you receive a few days before class begins.
Does ELITE administer the written test or must I go to the DMV?
ELITE will help prepare your student for the written test by having them take a practice permit test on the second day of class. The official written exam is administered at your local DMV. Once your student passes the written and vision exams at the DMV, they are issued a learners permit.

My student finished the program but we haven't received anything from the Secretary of State's office. What should I do?
Log in to your student's account and check their "Status" under Student Details. If their status is "Complete", everything has been sent to the State's office and you may start checking cyberdriveillinois.com.
If their status is "Incomplete" we are missing either a form, a class needs to be made up, or there is still a balance on the account. If the status says "Active", please give us a call so we may double check the file.
Where on cyberdriveillinois.com can I check my student's completion status?
Scroll down to the box that says "Driver License" and click on "Drivers Education." Click on "Driver Education Course Completion Check" Enter in your student Driver's License/Permit Number and click submit. https://www.ilsos.gov/deccheck/

The cost is $50. If a student is already 18, there is no driving requirement, but they must obtain a Permit from the DMV before they apply for their license.
